User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Eagletone CM40
I use an Alesis Studio24 Mixer which has Phantom Power. This microphone sounded very warm, very quiet, and crystal clear. I was able to hear the wind blowing outside ( I have a very quiet home ). My boston terrier walked by me and was grunting, and I was able to hear her grunting through my headphones as if I was not listening through a Mic at all. For the money this is a great studio condenser mic.

2 Stars Not the best choice
I wasn’t pleased with this mic’s performance, it tended to give a lisping sound to my S’s. At first I thought it was my post production, but after checking it out, I found it was the mic. And it pops even with a pro pop filter on. You can’t talk directly into this mic and expect it to sound good. I found myself moving the mic higher up away from my mouth to avoid pops. This in turned added to the lisp and a nasal sound. I took this mic for a real run and with some practice you can get a good sound out of it but that’s just it, it’s more work than its worth.

Also on my laptop it would pick up all sorts of background hissing, I had to use a noise gate to fix it. There are far better USB mics out there for the money. Also there are no drivers shipped with it or software and you will NOT be able to monitor you recordings unless your recording application supports its.

If you want a good sounding mic for a fair price then try the Audio Technica AT3035 condenser microphone. Its far better and worth it for entry to mid level recording.

5 Stars cheap and excellent

5 Stars GREAT deal!!
This microphone is great. The sound quality is fantastic and it is very sensitive. Make sure you have a quiet room! I sing in church and was asked to make a cd of the songs I have sung. I didn’t know what I was doing but this mic made even me sound good! A good mic for a reasonable cost. Give it a try.

4 Stars surprised
I run an internet radio broadcast from my home. I have used many microphones for this broadcast, and I thought I would invest in an inexpensive microphone so than I could use it on some remote broadcasts. I thought, “I’ll buy this mic, and if it tears up I’ll only be out a few dollars”. I also thought that if I didn’t like it, I would just send it back. When I got the mic I was pleasently surprised at the sturdy build and the tone of the mic. I tested the microphone in my studio, and decided to use it in the studio instead of in the field. I have added it to the other three microphones and am now using it for some talk radio segments. This microphone is perfect for the price. The only problem is that it gets a little muddy if you speak too close to it when recording at higher levels. Other than that it is a great mic, especially for the price.
